For more than 30 years, I have known Alan Moore as both a colleague and a friend. Over that time, I have watched him grow as a law enforcement professional, a leader, and a dedicated member of our community. Alan has also donated thousands of hours serving this community outside of his professional duties, demonstrating a genuine commitment to the people of Wayne County.

Long before he became Chief Deputy, Alan was deeply involved in many aspects of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Through his work and collaboration with the courts, Clerk’s Office, Prosecutor’s Office, and Wayne County Communications, he developed a strong understanding of how our county government and justice system work together to serve the public.

During my time as Sheriff, I saw Alan’s leadership and judgment up close. When the time came to appoint a Chief Deputy, I chose Alan Moore over all other candidates because of his integrity, leadership ability, and deep knowledge of the office. Just as important, I know his moral compass is pointed in the right direction.

As Chief Deputy, Alan has been involved in nearly every aspect of operations and administration. His experience and problem-solving ability have helped us accomplish more than I imagined when I first took office.
