David Winburn Endorses Alan Moore
Trusted Leadership Built on Real Experience
I am a career law enforcement officer who has served in multiple roles. My experience includes emergency communications, jail operations, criminal investigations, patrol operations, and service as a training officer and instructor in both the field and at the academy level.
I have worked with Alan Moore as a colleague and have also served under his leadership. My support for Alan is based on direct experience. I have seen how he operates in tricky situations, how he performs in a crisis, making calls that matter, and leading people. My assessment of his competency is based on what I have seen over time.
Alan hasn’t stayed in just one lane. He has worked across the entire Sheriff’s Office, mounted patrol, jail operations, patrol (including motorcycle operations), management, and administration. Each of those roles requires a different skill set, judgment, and approach to the job. The fact that he has performed in all of them matters. It means he understands the job from multiple angles.
That experience translates into something more significant. Alan knows the office from the ground up. He understands how each section operates, how they depend on one another, and how the entire organization functions. That kind of operational awareness cannot be taught quickly, nor can it be assumed. It has to be established over the years, and he has done that.
In his current role as Chief Deputy, he is the Sheriff’s right hand and executive officer. He is actively involved in daily operations, decision-making, and setting the direction of the agency. Alan is not preparing for leadership; he is already leading.
I would put Alan Moore’s law enforcement ability and aptitude up against any deputy in the Sheriff’s Office, and his administrative ability has been proven at a level expected of top Wayne County law enforcement leadership.
His conviction is proven, I have seen his experience in action, and he is the right person to lead this office. Please join me in supporting Alan Moore for Sheriff. Your vote matters. Use it on May 5th.
